Firewall is a device or set of devices designed to permit or deny network transmissions based upon a set of rules and is frequently used to protect networks from unauthorised access while permitting legitimate communications to pass.

OPEN VPN
Open-VPN is an SSL/TLS based virtual private network solution. It uses the industry standard SSL/TLS protocol to create the encrypted tunnel which can transmit packets of OSI layer 2 or 3.

Minimum hardware requirements for Endian Firewall:

• Two network cards
• Hardware must be compatible with Linux operating system

For a medium network of up to 50 users with 10 VPN connections:

• Pentium 4 2.8GHZ+
• 1GB RAM
• 20 GB Hard Disk
• 2x 100mb Network Cards
• Extra cooling fans and good ventilation, as the PC will be operational 24x7x365

Nagios Core Monitoring System

Nagios Core is an Open Source system and network monitoring application. It watches hosts and services that you specify, alerting you when things go bad and when they get better. Nagios Core was originally designed to run under Linux, although it should work under most other unices as well.

FreeNAS  (Network Attached Drive) is  a product for backup and restoration solution. This product is difference than external hard drive flexibility. Users can choose to simply run it as an external hard drive for extra storage or backups via regular Windows Explorer.
